Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Football Star ("the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Football Star iOS application — a daily-care football game in which you raise one young player and shape their career.
The short version. Football Star has no account and doesn't ask for your real name. Your player, stats, story, achievements and settings are stored on your device. If you turn on AI replies, your messages to your player and your player's in-game stats are sent to our backend and AI provider so they can write an in-character reply — never your real identity. You can play fully offline instead. If you allow notifications, we send occasional reminders via OneSignal. We use an attribution tool to measure marketing; the game plays exactly the same whether or not you allow tracking.
1. Information we process
a. Game data on your device
Your player profile, stats, career history, story, relationships, achievements, your optional scout profile (a name and photo) and your settings are stored only on your device. There is no account and we do not receive this data. Clearing your data in the app, or deleting the app, removes it.
b. AI replies (optional)
If you enable AI replies, the app brings your player to life by sending the messages you type to them and your player's in-game stats and context (such as name, position, mood and recent events) to our backend — a Cloudflare Worker, which forwards to the AI provider xAI (maker of Grok) — to generate an in-character reply. We do not send your real identity, and our API keys stay on our server, never in the app. If you prefer not to use this, choose Play offline and the app uses built-in lines so the game works fully without sending anything. You can change this any time in Settings.
c. Content moderation
So replies stay appropriate, messages may be checked against safety filters before a reply is generated, and you can report anything that feels off. Reports help us improve the experience.
d. Push notifications — OneSignal
If you allow notifications, we use OneSignal to send occasional reminders — for example, that your player needs you. OneSignal assigns your installation a push token and processes basic device information to deliver these messages. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings, and the game works fully without them.
e. Attribution & marketing measurement — AppsFlyer
We use AppsFlyer to understand which marketing campaign led to your install and to measure app installs and sessions. AppsFlyer processes device identifiers and install/session events. If you grant tracking permission, this may include the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA).
f. Purchases — Adapty
If the app offers any optional in-app purchases, we use Adapty together with Apple to present offers and validate purchases. Adapty processes a non-identifying app instance identifier and purchase events. Payment itself is handled by Apple under your Apple ID; we never see your card details.
g. Diagnostics
We may receive aggregated, anonymised crash and performance data to keep the app stable.
2. App Tracking Transparency
iOS asks your permission before the app can track you across other apps and websites. If you deny, AppsFlyer will not use the IDFA. Football Star plays exactly the same either way — no feature is gated behind it. Change it any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
3. Camera & photos
If you choose to set a scout profile photo, the app asks for access to your camera or photo library. The photo you pick stays on your device as part of your profile and is never uploaded to us.
4. Third-party services
The services below process data on our behalf; their own policies apply:
- xAI (Grok — AI replies) — x.ai/legal/privacy-policy
- Cloudflare (backend proxy & hosting) — cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
- OneSignal (push notifications) — onesignal.com/privacy_policy
- AppsFlyer (attribution) — appsflyer.com/legal
- Adapty (purchases) — adapty.io/privacy
5. How we use information
- To generate the optional AI replies that bring your player to life.
- To keep those replies safe and let you report problems.
- To send notifications you have opted into.
- To measure the effectiveness of our marketing and validate purchases.
- To keep the app secure and stable.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Data retention
Data on your device remains until you clear it in the app or delete the app. Messages and stats sent for AI replies are processed to produce a reply and are not used to build a profile of you. Data held by our providers follows their standard retention periods.
7. Children
Football Star is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Your choices
- AI replies — play offline any time in the app's Settings.
- Notifications — turn off any time in iOS Settings.
- Tracking — deny or revoke in iOS Settings.
- Game data — clear your data in the app's Settings.
- Requests — email us to ask a question or request deletion of data associated with your device.
9. Security
Requests to our backend are sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the limited data we process.
10. International users
Our providers may process data on servers outside your country. By using Football Star you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
